It is easier to talk yourself out of trying than become vulnerable to failing. But you can’t succeed if you don’t try to accomplish something. But is failure not part of every successful undertaking, is it not the way we learn and grow?
Tragically, most educational systems train children very early that failure is bad, and parents often shame children when they fail. It is no wonder then that many of us just don’t want to make an effort unless we are guaranteed success.
It is the natural tendency of the brain to protect itself from harm. In this case your brain has decided that you will experience less pain by imagining the pain of failure then taking a chance on success. If you find yourself in this trap you need to get out.
You have to change your mind, and think some new thoughts. Or at least that is what I think and believe.
There is only one you. You are unique in all the world. It is your responsibility to allow those things which you are passionate about to begin to point you toward your ultimate destiny.
