If you want to realize some of your dreams it is about imagining the dream and dare to go for it, not knowing whether you will succeed. As if you would go on holiday without your luggage, feeling confident you can probably get and buy what you need once you get there. A real dream is not about a holiday but about a life style, it comes with some goals.
It is about challenges you want to overcome and opportunities you want to take. Unfortunately criticism plays a large role in our lives – from the bully who tells you that your nose is too large, to the kind teacher helping you perfect your essay, to even a concerned parent who wants you to aim just a bit higher.Being a parent myself I recognize how sometimes what I want to do is give clear, corrective feedback. Depending on who you are the way feedback is perceived might make you are break you. I have seen how feedback works in sports and I know especially as dancers we are able to accept a lot of feedback. Day after day..it will never stop, because it is the only way to get better in your sport: someone is watching you and helps you to grow.
I can remember times when I have been offered biting criticism that went directly to my heart and the older I become I realize this is something that will he part of us all for the rest of our lives. Jealousy is very often a reason why people cannot accept someone is successful, however when you see others in their successes and believe in your own success, I believe life is much sunnier.
I write this blog in the Danish Architecture Centre in Kopenhagen and when you see the projects of co-creation they work on here, it is about listening to the constructive feedback people give each other to grow. Instead of focusing on the fact that great ideas might have been an idea you had yourself/
Let’s be honest, many humans think alike…having the same ideas and partnering up helps to make society better. What if we join forces instead of being jealous, would that not bring us further?
