The Success Story of the Swiss Army Knife

I sometimes get the question in interviews what being successful means to me. That remains a difficult question, because in the end success can be anything. I am convinced that we are largely responsible for our own success and the heeling of happiness that might bring us. Once we understand that, the whole world is open.

To me, success as a leader is when people decide to step into their leadership role and fully accept who they are. So they can finally live the authentic life they've always longed for. This usually also includes money, but it mainly means enjoying our nature and living our interests and passions as we wish.

If you are capable of having the strength to be flexible with the things that come your way, this will help you to find success. In addition, the openness to the diverse and complex world around you and good communication skills help very often to be successful in connecting people and ideas.

Creating the glue that an organization so desperately needs in these times is the task of an inspiring and authentic leader that dares to make discissions.

I firmly believe that you do not need to choose, it is really possible to be successful and happy if you can and are allowed to combine things. Just like a Swiss army knife is a fantastic tool, even if you are not part of the army.

Even if a craving curiosity might be a dangerous trap with all those inexhaustible sources of information, such as the internet. This might become as a rabbit hole in which you sometimes fall into far too easily and where you can get lost for hours.

That tumbling down an information tunnel is, for people like me, a symptom of an important but often invisible pitfall. I'm pretty sure some of you will recognize that.

Let’s be honest do you not want to know what George Clooney looked like at the age of sixteen or why Rotifers do not need males to reproduce?

But if you know your pitfall, I am convinced that this insatiable thirst for knowledge is something that is very valuable and interesting, yet something that makes it difficult to find satisfaction in one thing.
