For a very long time, I was extra careful for the intentions of successful men when I thought about misuse of power. Maybe because of my personal experience.
In the world and in the press we very often see examples of men misusing their power (without mention some names of powerful men leading big countries in the world)
We do not see so much cases where women use their power on other women and eventually men. Although I heard before from friends in politics and big companies, that some women really do not know the word sisterhood. You probably met those people also, they think they are completely self-made, and are not grateful for those on their path reaching them a hand, secretly hoping nobody will ever find out.
But misuse of power, seduction and persuasion is something that has nothing to do only with men or with a sexual link.
I think we need to be extra careful for people that are themselves unknown and maybe not that successful. I am convinced that some people that are not yet successful misuse a certain kind of let’s call it power to come near to successful people and become parasites. They first behave as big fans of who you are and what you do. As a successful person yourself you feel happy with this new kind of attention, as very often it is another kind of attention than the usual ‘fanbase likes’ you are used to get since a while.
It is as if they trap you (or at least your ego) with very small little things they know about you. Things you probably shared yourself in interviews and on social media with the world.
They are smart and they really know how to use it as a power, until they got what they wanted…
Even though you do not want other people going through the same thing, my first feeling was: hallelujah, she found a new prey to devour.
So be careful, not only men, not only successful people misuse their power.
Let it not change the way you communicate in your personal, authentic and vulnerable way, because real relations will not blossom without vulnerability
