Artificial Intelligence

I can no longer count the events on two hands that I moderate where “AI” was the leading cast.

It is about a year ago that ChatGPT was launched, and I see more and more sectors putting AI in the spotlight in their communication and events.

I see many more hands raised when keynote speakers ask who already experimented with CHatGPT now than about a year ago.

You might know that my focus is a lot on asking the right questions to get the right answers, and I am convinced that it will become more relevant than ever.

Time after time I see disbelief or at least surprised faces when a specialist warns us about the misuse of AI, how we need to think about ethics, how and with which historical input these systems are trained and how much energy they consume. AI is of course much much more than Chat GPT and I see on many events that we are not there yet, not everyone understands what it is. Let alone that they know what AI  will mean to them, their lives and their jobs.

It is so important that we make sure that everyone can explore how we can navigate in an era marked by rapid technological advancements. We need to educate as much as we can and we should not forget to spot the talents as we will need them in our respective fields and sectors.

But when you read about the use of ChatGPT I think it is a technology that was adopted faster than anything before, can you believe it is barely 1 year old.

I think that in the coming year companies will start recognizing use cases for AI and understanding how AI might allow us to reimagine the business itself.

What I sometimes wonder is what about the lack of a policy preventing the adoption of AI?

Or are individuals adopting AI on their own, exposing companies to unknown risks and liabilities?

Do we have enough skilled people out there, I wonder.

One of the speakers on a panel I moderated about a week ago shared something very relevant : ‘the most important thing is to be able to look further than the model’

More than ever we need visionary leaders with a strong vision and ethics will be key for their leadership.
