I was wondering if I was able to formulate my ideas and thoughts already about the situation in Ukraine in my blog today. But for the moment it is too surreal for me to have a specific thought to share, even though it is so real.
It looks as if what they show us on TV is like a Netflix series, and even though what happens is based on a script written by a despote, the people we see are not actors, they are human beings, fathers going for war, mothers and children running to safer places.
We don’t have control over as many things as we might think. Maybe we should think more about the now, this moment, and our availability to it.
What if we would all be able to ask ourselves some simple questions to keep things in perspective: what can I do right now to make a difference for myself and for others?
Imagine a world where everyone prioritized self-care and their own well-being first before stressing about everything wrong in their lives.
We will need to convince our children more than ever that the world is not a stage. We need strong and relaxed personalities, and not actors who must perform to please, especially on social media.
That mindset to please and to look for approval can make the rest of our life miserable. Living our lives as an endless performance is exhausting.
When I write, becoming a relaxed personality, I do not mean that it would be an an indication that you’re irresponsible. I mean we may never forget to focus on mental and emotional well-being.
We need to also teach our children that the world changes, that social media are part of life, cryptocurrencies, NFT-s and the Metaverse are as real as the war in Ukraine. Climate change is not an invention and democracy is not a certainty for peace.
It is sometimes too late to formulate ideas about "what if" , when things are real already. Then it is time to become hands on, trying to understand but moreover trying to help.
