Reflections from a meaningfull experience

Recently, I had the privilege of working closely with an organization that left a profound impression on me. Over two days of engaging discussions, thought-provoking ideas, and genuine connection, I saw something rare and inspiring—an organization deeply rooted in its mission to change the world for the better, led by individuals who approach their work with authenticity and heart.

It struck me how uncommon it is to find this kind of warmth and collective vision in many professional environments. Often, organizations get caught up in polarizing debates or rigid structures that can drain the energy and passion from their people. But here, I witnessed something different. This team—whether crafting visionary strategies or getting their hands dirty with day-to-day challenges—shared a common bond: a beating heart at the center of all they do.

This experience reminded me of the power of leadership with heart. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being human. It’s about daring to look in the mirror and face the truths that may not always be easy to accept. It’s about building connections that are grounded in warmth and respect, ensuring that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered to contribute.

In moments of challenge, it’s easy for leaders with heart to feel worn down by the pressures of systems designed to extract rather than nurture. Yet, it’s precisely this kind of leadership that holds the key to transforming organizations and driving meaningful change. Cherishing and supporting these leaders isn’t just a responsibility; it’s a necessity.

As I reflect on my time with this extraordinary group, I’m reminded of the importance of thinking beyond consensus to find the “third alternative”—the path that challenges conventions, fosters creativity, and unites diverse perspectives. It was an honor to witness this team’s journey and to contribute, as a moderator, to their collective strength.

Leadership with heart isn’t easy, but it’s essential.

Let’s celebrate it, nurture it, and let it inspire us to create the change we wish to see in the world.
