Is your job still bringing you joy?

They say "Job" and "Joy" are only one letter apart, yet sometimes, they feel worlds away.

We spend a large part of our lives working. And for many, what starts as an exciting opportunity can slowly turn into a golden cage. Safe, comfortable, but sometimes also limiting. The view from inside might still be beautiful, but the door is no longer open to growth, change, or passion.

Choosing the right job at the right time is more than a strategic career move, it’s an act of self-respect. Your professional path should reflect who you are today, not just who you were when you took the role. But still, it’s not always easy to question the status quo, especially when others tell you how lucky you are.

The question we need to ask ourselves isn’t just “Am I good at what I do?” but also “Does what I do still light me up?” Sometimes, the answer surprises us. And that’s okay. People evolve. What once felt like a dream job might now feel like a routine. What once brought joy might now bring exhaustion.

The courage to leave a golden cage starts with curiosity. With daring to wonder: What else is out there? What if I chose differently? What would joy at work look like now?

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, an employee, or someone in between jobs, don’t underestimate the power of alignment between what you do and who you are.

Because yes, joy and job are just one letter apart, but that one letter makes all the difference.
