Decision making skills

I guess most of my readers know that my tagline is "...because to get the right answers it is essential to ask the right questions".

This is my concern in every interview I am able to do on TV or on stage. In any debate or panel discussion it is also super relevant for me to get to know the people on beforehand, read about them and than I am convinced that my questions will make the discussion between people even more interesting. Because my role as a moderator is to ask the right questions and doing so within the framework my client gave me, so the right questions during the briefing and listening very carefully is key for the preparation.

But it is also a challenge I give myself, to deliberately ask myself questions on many things in life. It is also thinking further than the status quo. Because we make decisions every day, some small ones but also some very big ones that might lead to a great outcome, that you like or that at a certain moment you might not like any longer.

And than what?

I think we should be able to rethink our choices.

Some people say that everything happens for a reason , that nothing is a coincidence. Some even dare to say that things went the way they had to go.

But than why bother with evaluating your choices in the first place?

Do you really think you get that exclusive position because of anything you did, pr was it only because it was written in the stars?

Did he fall in love with you because you were such a good lover or simply because it was destined to happen?

Do you have these beautiful and talented children because you’ve worked hard to be an amazing parent or is it simply the way it had to go?

I do not agree, I think that we make choices ourselves on where we want to go with our lives. But of course when things happen, you can think about what happened and if there is a reason for that or put it in a certain perspective.

I am also convinced that how you decide, influences what kind of life you will have, and therefore you want to increase your decision-making skills.

And that flat tire of mine earlier this week, helped me to put a discussion that happened earlier in perspective and the fact that I had to reschedule an important meeting with Peter Hinssen due to that flat tire makes me think that this meeting will be a better one next time. It is your choice to think positive or negative on any event in your life.
