When was the last time you took a leap into the unknown?

Today, when I post this blog and podcast, I let go.

As this will be about a day after we arrived at Ball State University  where we leave Jade in the United States to begin her new chapter as a student and professional athlete, my heart is a mix of pride, emotion, and quiet reflection. She earned this scholarship on her own through tireless training, academic discipline, exams, calls, mails, paperwork and a relentless belief in her dream.

We’ll miss her deeply. Her presence at home. Her energy. Her laughter. It’s hard to imagine that we might only see her twice a year, and for who knows how long this adventure will last. But this is what stepping into the unknown looks like not only for her, but also for us.

Jade has always shown strength, especially when things didn’t go as planned. Again and again, she chose to rise rather than retreat. And that’s what makes her journey so inspiring. Not the wins alone, but the way she handled the setbacks with courage, determination, and grace.

Watching her go reminds me that letting go doesn’t mean losing someone. It means trusting that everything you’ve poured into them will carry them forward. And it means growing yourself, into a new kind of parent, one who supports from a distance, and cheers from afar.

Today isn’t just about Jade’s leap. It’s about ours as well.

So I ask you: When was the last time you took a leap into the unknown?

And what’s stopping you from doing it again?
