What if hope begins with showing up?

As this year comes to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about the world we live in.  A world that feels more fragmented than ever. We see conflict, inequality, fear, and fatigue, and yet, we also see sparks of hope. People still dare to dream, still dare to speak up, still dare to show up.

Maybe that’s where change begins, not in the headlines on newspapers and TV or on social media, but in the quiet decision each of us makes every day: to care, to act, to connect.

Throughout this year, I’ve had the privilege to meet and moderate so many inspiring people, leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers. Different worlds, different visions, but all sharing one common trait: they show up. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s uncertain. Even when the world feels too divided to listen.

When I wrote 10 Quintessential Questions, I realised that showing up is not just a choice, it’s an act of courage. Because to show up fully means to be seen. To ask the uncomfortable questions. To face what’s broken and still believe in what can be healed.

So as we almost step into a new year, I want to share a wish, not for perfection, but for presence.
“ That we keep showing up for the people who need us.
That we show up for our ideas, our values, and our dreams.
That we show up for the planet, for peace, and for each other”

Because the truth is: our world may be fragmented, but it’s still ours to repair.
And every time we choose to show up with empathy, curiosity, and love, we stitch one small piece of it back together.

So here’s to showing up, again and again, for a world that needs it more than ever.
